Ashes of the Damned Guide | Black Ops 7 Zombies

v.680873

Pack-a-Punch

  1. Melee the floor panel in the 'Server Room' in the Janus Towers Plaza area and pick up TEDD's head.
  2. Interact with the pickup truck (called Ol' Tessie) outside the Server Room to install TEDD's head.
  3. Drive Ol' Tessie to either Blackwater Lake (left out of spawn) or Vandorn Farm (right out of spawn).
  4. At either of these locations, you'll find a Power Pump covered in growths. You need to destroy all the growths in under 30 seconds.
    • Purple-eyed Zombies will start spawning as soon as you damage the first growth. They don't give many points, so they aren't worth killing.
    • If you don't destroy the growths in time, they'll respawn, and you need to wait till the next round to try again.
  5. Once you've destroyed the last growth, interact with the power switch nearby (Blackwater Lake location or Vandorn Farm location).
  6. Once the power is on, a gate on the road will open, and you'll be able to drive Ol' Tessie to Ashwood.
  7. Once in Ashwood, ascend either rope (left of the Garage or across from the garage). Make your way to the Power Pump on the bridge and clear its growths. The power switch is up the stairs from the pump on the Double Tap side.
  8. Once the power is on, the Garage doors will open. Drive Ol' Tessie inside and interact with the workbench to install the Pack-a-Punch on the back of Ol' Tessie. Also, Ol' Tessie will gain a boost ability when you're driving; this boost can "shake off" any Ravagers on the truck.

Necrofluid Gauntlet

The Necrofluid Gauntlet is a Wonder Weapon that shoots spikes that stick to enemies and the environment. On reload, the spikes are recalled to the gauntlet, restoring your ammo. Zombies and other enemies in their path take damage. When upgraded, the spikes can be detonated, dealing area-of-effect damage. Ammo is still returned when using this explosion ability.

  1. Turn on the power in Ashwood, Blackwater Lake, and Vandorn Farm.
    • This is not required until later, but since you need to wait for round 8, you might as well do it now.
  2. On Round 8, go up to this wreckage, right of the door to 'Blackwater Lake,' in the 'Janus Towers Plaza' area to spawn an Uber Klaus. Kill both phases of the Uber Klaus, and it will drop the Stabilizer Chip.
  3. In Ashwood, interact with the panel on the cell in the 'Sheriff's Office' (located to the left of the Vulture Aid perk machine) to install the chip.
  4. Once the panel says "Update requires restart", rapidly throw two stun grenades at Klaus in the cell. If done correctly, a spinning-star stun effect will appear over Klaus' head.
    • A stun grenade will always spawn in the 'Server Room' in the spawn area (the room where you get TEDD's head). Another will spawn on a shelf across from the Juggernog perk machine in the Ruby Rabbit.
  5. Klaus will break free from the chair and start following you around as a "Protector Robot" (he'll kill Zombies and revive players).
    • While Klaus is active, your tactical grenade will be replaced with the "Klaus Remote Control," which enables you to direct Klaus to a specific location.
    • After a while, Klaus will stop following you and go on cooldown. Once the cooldown is over, you can summon Klaus again for 2000 points from any of the radios around the map.
  6. While Klaus is active, drive Ol' Tessie (don't jump pad, you'll need the car) to the Zarya Cosmodrome. Command Klaus to stand in front of this panel in the 'Support Systems' area. He should stomp, and the panel will light up.
  7. Interact with the panel to activate the scanner. Stand in the red circle on the ground until the bar on the left side of your screen fills up. If a Zombie enters the circle, progress will pause.
    • If you fail to "defend" the scanner, you can retry at the start of the next round.
  8. If the scan was successful, you can pick up the canister, left of the panel.
    • While holding the canister, you can't sprint, and using a jump pad will make you drop the canister.
  9. With the canister, drive to Ashwood and interact with the power pump. The canister will fill with "energy." Once it's done, pick it up and go to Blackwater Lake, and do the same with that power pump.
    • Once the canister has "energy" inside, you have a time limit to get to the next pump.
  10. Once you collect the energy from Blackwater Lake, drive to Vandorn Farm and get the energy from the pump.
  11. Once you've got the energy from each pump, bring the canister to the Cube in the 'Cellar.' Once you get close enough, the cube will take the energy, and the canister will disappear.
  12. Take the Jump Pad between Vandorn Farm and Janus Tower Plaza. While in the air, you'll see three symbols on the roofs of the buildings in Vandorn Farm. One on the Barn, one on the House, and one on the Grain Silo; note down the symbols.
    • Saving and quitting will change the symbols.
  13. Once you have your symbols, interact with each side of the Cube in the Cellar until the three sides are showing your symbols, then interact with the Eye on the Cube. If done correctly, the eye will disappear, and you can pick up the Necrofluid Gauntlet.
  14. Once you pick it up, you'll be locked in a circle around the Cube. Green orbs will spawn around the room. Shoot an orb with the Gauntlet, then recall the spike (with the reload button) to collect it; multiple orbs can be shot and collected at once. Once you collect six orbs, the lockdown will end.

Ol' Tessie Upgrades

  1. Abomination Beam Upgrade

  2. In the Diner in the Exit 115 area, a Cook zombie will spawn randomly. Killing this zombie will drop a Freezer Key.
  3. Open the freezer at the back of the Diner (beside the "back-right" door), and pick up the Abomination Carcass inside.
  4. Go back to Ashwood and, with Ol' Tessie in the Garage, interact with the workbench (same bench to craft the Pack-a-Punch) to craft the upgrade.
  1. DG-2 Turret Upgrade

  2. Complete the Serum lockdown in the Main Quest. The Seal of Sorrow should spawn.
  3. Around the map, there are three keys that you must find and bring to the Seal of Sorrow.
    • Each key is found in the "Fog" and will apply a different debuff while you're holding it.
    • Each key will need to be shot and retrieved with the Necrofluid Gauntlet (with the reload button).
  4. Key Locations:

  5. Once all three keys have been brought to the Seal of Sorrow, a cutscene will play. Once it's done, the DG-2 Turret will spawn where the Seal of Sorrow was.
  6. With Ol' Tessie in the Garage, interact with the workbench to craft the upgrade.

'Dust to Dust' Main Quest

Stats (Solo): Difficulty - 8/10, Est. Completion Time - 1:30 Hr to 2 Hrs

  1. Crafting the Serum

  2. Install the Pack-a-Punch upgrade on Ol' Tessie.
  3. You must collect six items to craft the Serum. These items can be collected in any order, and their steps can be done simultaneously.
  4. Mixing the Ingredients

  5. Go to 'Yuri's Lab' in the Zarya Cosmodrome (left of the M15 MOD O wallbuy).
  6. Interact with the Powder of the Forgotten on the table to spawn three sets of symbols on the chalkboard.
  7. Each symbol indicates which item you must interact with on the table, and in what order (top to bottom). See the table below or use this cheat sheet to match the left symbol in each set with the item it represents.
    • If you interact with the items in the wrong order, you'll have to go to the next round to retry.
  8. Chalkboard Word (in Pigpen)Translated WordIngredient
    FUNGIFUNGIWidow's Lantern
    LIMBSLIMBSMysterious Limb
    OCULIOCULIRavager Eyes
    CONCHCONCHHoard Hunk Chunks
    TALUSTALUSHuman Bones
  9. If done correctly, interact with the beaker in the middle to "Add Blood" to start a lockdown. Whoever adds blood will have reduced health and disabled health regen, but can heal with the Necrofluid Gauntlet. Kill Zombies until the room fills with gas.
  10. Gauntlet Challenges

  11. Obtain the DG-2 Turret Upgrade for Ol' Tessie.
  12. You must complete four challenges, three (Vandorn Farm, Zarya Cosmodrome, Exit 115) can be done in any order, but Blackwater Lake should be done last. To start each, you need a "purple shot" for the Necrofluid Gauntlet. To obtain a purple shot:
    • Shoot any of the clock faces of the broken clock tower in Ashwood with the DG-2 Turret to stop it.
    • Shoot the stopped face with the Necrofluid Gauntlet to retrieve the purple shot. This will disable that clock face.
    • If you have no purple shots left, end the round, and at the start of the next round, shoot the clock tower with the DG-2 again. This will reset all clock faces.
  13. Vandorn Farm Challenge

    1. With a purple shot, go to Vandorn Farm and check the clock behind the dining room table in the Farmhouse. The Hour Hand will point to 12, 3, 6, or 9.
    2. Stand on the Roman numeral scratched into the floor around the table that matches the hour on the clock.
    3. Place the Gauntlet's crosshair on the Father skeleton's head. When his eyes turn red, shoot him with the purple gauntlet. His head should fly back, and four energy orbs will fly away.
    4. Collect four items around the farm and place them on the ritual circles in the front yard.
    5. Interact with the last item to start a lockdown. During the lockdown, you'll need to defend all items from infinitely spawning zombies.
      • Failing to defend the items will discharge the item you used to start the trial. Interact with it and kill Zombies nearby to start recharging it.
  14. Zarya Cosmodrome Challenge

    1. Shoot both large spinning radar dishes (Dish 1 and Dish 2) with a purple shot (two shots required) to slow them down.
    2. Go to the 'Control Room' (behind the Wisp Tea machine). Inside, you'll find eight TVs, six to the left of the Armour wallbuy, and two to the right.
    3. The two TVs on the right will cycle through symbols. These symbols spell a word using pigpen cipher characters, two letters at a time. See the table below to translate the symbols into a word.
    4. Word in PigpenTranslated Word
      LAUNCHLAUNCH
      WEAPONWEAPON
      ENGINEENGINE
      ROCKETROCKET
    5. Once you have your word, you'll need to enter its corresponding numbers into the remaining six TVs (left to right). Shoot the red button on the bottom right of a TV to stop the numbers from cycling.
      • If you stop the TV on the wrong number, you'll need to shoot all the TV buttons (correct or not) to stop all them. Once all are stopped, the wisps will fly away, and you'll need to shoot the spinning radar dishes again.
      • The buttons can be accidentally triggered with explosive weapons (like the Pack-a-Punched M1911).
    6. WordNumber Sequence
      LAUNCH11 - 00 - 20 - 13 - 02 - 07
      WEAPON22 - 04 - 00 - 15 - 14 - 13
      ENGINE04 - 13 - 06 - 08 - 13 - 04
      ROCKET17 - 14 - 02 - 10 - 04 - 19
    7. If done correctly, the screen will flash white, the wisps in front of the TVs will disappear, and the rocket will launch.
  15. Exit 115 Challenge

    1. Don't get a purple shot yet. To start this challenge, coloured lightning needs to be actively striking various buildings in the Exit 115 area. There are two ways to get the lightning to strike:
      • Wait a round. The lightning will activate every other round.
      • Shoot three turned-off street lights around Exit 115 in order with Ol' Tessie's DG-2 Turret. One of the street lights will be sparking, and once shot, it'll be charged. Another street light will start sparking; shoot that one.
    2. Optional: Once you're ready to get the purple shot from the clock tower in Ashwood, summon Klaus via the Radio in the Garage (any radio works; this is the closest one). He's required for the next step, but the step is timed. The time it takes for Klaus to spawn in will eat away your time to complete the rest of the step.
    3. Shoot the clock on the mechanic's roof with a purple shot to freeze time for 60 seconds.
    4. While time is frozen, awaken three specific Zombies and lead them to a specific colour lightning. They don't all need to be woken up at the same time; you can lead one at a time. If you run out of time, any Zombies already brought to a lightning will "save" (at least on solo; unknown on co-op), so you don't have to escort them again on the next attempt.
    5. Once they reach the lightning, the Zombie will stand still and look like they're being shocked. Once the time runs out, any Zombies at their lightning strike will disappear and wisps will spawn in their place. Once all three Zombies are transformed into wisps, the challenge will end.
  16. Blackwater Lake Challenge

    1. Interact with the wisp on the dock in Blackwater Lake.
    2. Shoot the projector in the Cabin with a purple shot. It will show a sequence of four different images on the projection screen.
    3. Note the sequence of four images shown, then shoot the corresponding film reels in that order. Image to Reel location:
    4. Walk up to the box at the foot of the bed in the Cabin's upstairs bedroom to trigger some dialogue.
    5. Summon Klaus (the closest radio is at the back of the Cabin) and command him to the bed to pick up the Death Whistle.
  17. Veytharion Boss Fight

    Pre-fight Wisp Collection

  18. Once Klaus picks up the Death Whistle, he'll stand next to the Radio by the dock. Interact with Klaus to blow the horn. After 20–30 seconds, wisps will fly from the Pyramid.
  19. Once you collect the last wisp, you'll automatically be teleported to the Boss Fight.

  20. You must drive Ol' Tessie through four specific "Fog" areas, collecting three Wisps in each area (12 total). All players must be in Ol' Tessie and stay inside until you collect all wisps or fail. Follow this path around the map: Blackwater Lake -> Janus Tower Plaza -> Vandorn Farm -> Ashwood -> Blackwater Lake.
    • You must collect all three wisps in an area before leaving it. If you exit a fog zone without collecting all three, or go in the wrong order/direction, you will fail and must wait for the next round.
  21. Once you collect the last wisp, you will be teleported (with Ol' Tessie) inside the Pyramid for the boss fight against Veytharion.
  22. Boss Fight Notes

    • Almost all the damage you deal in the fight will come from Ol' Tessie. Here's a summary of Ol' Tessie's Mechanics:
      • When the boss is above the raised area in the middle of the arena, ram it to deal damage (using the boost is not required, as the game will automatically speed you up).
      • Drive over the Green Barnacles (same as in the Fog) on the ground to repair the vehicle. In standard mode, these respawn on a timer (in Cursed or past round 100 in any mode, these will not respawn).
      • If the vehicle reaches zero health, you'll be ejected. Interact with Ol' Tessie to repair it for 150 Salvage.
  23. Phases 1 and 2

    1. Dodge missiles (indicated by red circles on the ground) and ram the boss with Ol' Tessie when it is safe.
    2. Ramming a "mouth" on the boss 1-2 times will break it, revealing a red glowing "crit" spot. Try to ram/shoot this to deal more damage.
    3. Eventually, Veytharion will enter an immunity state and start spinning.
    4. To end the immune phase, look for a Purple Beam of light in the arena. Drive Tessie into it to "charge" the vehicle.
    5. Once charged, ram Veytharion to stun him and expose a yellow, glowing weak point on his underbelly.
    6. Shoot the weak point. The Necrofluid Gauntlet and the DG-2 Turret are recommended for this part.
    7. Max Ammo and Max Armour power-ups will spawn. If they're up in the air in the corners of the arena, shoot and retrieve them with the Necrofluid Gauntlet.
  24. Phase 3:

    1. Veytharion will charge a massive Laser Attack, indicated by one of the mouths glowing purple.
    2. You must boost directly into him while he is charging the laser to interrupt the attack.
    3. If you fail to interrupt, you can hide behind a pillar to avoid the attack.
    4. Repeat the charge/ram/shoot cycle to defeat him and trigger the final cinematic.

"Turned to Ashes" song

  1. Interact with three "Mister Peeks Headphones" around the map. Headphone locations:
  2. Once all three headphones are interacted with, the song will start.

Aether Loot Plant

  1. Pick up a Fertilizer Canister:
    1. Janus Towers Plaza - Near the Jump Pad
    2. Vandorn Farm - Upstairs in the Barn, left of the power switch
    3. Ashwood - Right of the VS Recon wallbuy in 'Judgement Square'
    4. Blackwater Lake - In the Toolshed
  2. Aether Plants can be found scattered around all the main "points of interest" around the map. Interact with an Aether Plant to "spray" it. This will spawn zombies; you'll need to defend the plant. Once it's fully grown, it'll drop a variety of loot, including Essence, Salvage, and Equipment.
  3. Placing the Toxic Growth field upgrade on the aether plant has a chance to provide better loot, like PAP Crystals and Aether Tools, though this has been nerfed since launch.

Good Soldiers Trophy/Achievement (Dempsey's Side Quest/Lucidity Dark Ops Calling Card)

  1. Play as Tank Dempsey.
  2. Travel to the 'Crashed Rocket' area in the Fog, between Ashwood and Zarya Cosmodrome.
  3. Around this area on the map, there'll be an area that Ol' Tessie can't enter. Look for the corpses and interact with the Dog Tags, hidden in the snow.
  4. You'll be teleported to a Forest area. Follow the wisp/objectives and survive waves of zombies.
  5. Eventually, you'll be turned into a Disciple. Kill the remaining zombies.
  6. Once done, you'll be returned to the main map. Essence, Salvage, and a Legendary Scorestreak will spawn. The "Good Soldiers" trophy/achievement will also pop, and you'll receive the Lucidity Dark Ops Calling Card.

Free Ray Gun Mark II / Free Loot (Jump Pad Portals)

  1. Open every wooden barrier around the map with Ol' Tessie.
    • To make sure you got all the barriers, drive a full loop around the whole map: Janus Towers Plaza -> Blackwater Lake -> Ashwood -> Exit 115 -> Zarya Cosmodrome -> Ashwood -> Vandorn Farm -> Janus Towers Plaza.
  2. Use all seven Jump Pads around the map: Janus Towers Plaza, Blackwater Lake, Vandorn Farm, Ashwood (Double Tap Side), Ashwood (Juggernog Side), Zarya Cosmodrome, Exit 115.
    • You only need to use each pad once (either direction; both are not required).
  3. Go to 'Janus Towers Plaza' and wait four rounds. To guarantee a free Ray Gun Mark 2, wait until round 18 to do the rest of this easter egg.
  4. A light on the tower (above the Jump Pad) will begin to blink, signalling a 7-digit number code. Count the blinks to get each number (there is a small break between numbers and a long flash when the sequence restarts).
    • The numbers can only be 1-7, with no repeats.
  5. Each jump pad has a corresponding number (see below). Use the Jump Pads in the order given by the blinking light in a single round. If the round ends before you finish, your progress will reset, and you'll need to get a new sequence.
    • If you use a Jump Pad in the wrong order, your progress will reset, and you'll need to end the round to get a new code from the light.
    • Jump Pad Numbers:
      • Janus Towers: 1
      • Vandorn Farm: 2
      • Ashwood (Double Tap): 3
      • Blackwater Lake: 4
      • Exit 115: 5
      • Zarya Cosmodrome: 6
      • Ashwood (Juggernog): 7
  6. If done correctly, a purple portal will spawn in the air in the "flight path" between two Jump Pads. Don't use any Jump Pads, instead drive to either jump pad that would fling you into the portal, then use it to enter the portal.
  7. Once you enter the portal, you'll be teleported back to Ashwood. The portal will drop a bunch of dead zombies then, after a few seconds, it'll drop various loot items including the Ray Gun Mark 2 (if you're on/past round 18).

Free Perk (Soda Fountain)

Permanent Melee Kill Double Points (Claw Talisman)

  1. Obtain the Death Perception perk. The perk machine is on the second floor of the barn in Vandorn Farm.
    • It's also recommended to have Melee Macchiato and a tier 2 or 3 Pack-a-Punched melee weapon, as the challenge is melee-focused.
  2. With Death Perception, search the ground in the 'Crashed Rocket' area (between Ashwood and Zarya Cosmodrome), or 'Orda Graveyard' area (between Ashwood and Exit 115) for glowing Bear prints.
  3. Interact with the prints and follow the direction they point to find the next one (about 5 prints total). The final print will trigger a bear death animation, which will transport you to a dedicated arena to fight a high-health HVT Bear.
    • Upon entering the arena, your guns, and perks will be removed. They can be picked up from the ground around where the bear spawned, but don’t use them if you want the Talisman.
  4. To receive the permanent Double Points reward, you must kill the bear using only your melee weapon.
    • If you kill the bear with guns, you will receive a standard loot chest (which has a chance for a Ray Gun), but not the permanent double points.
  5. Once the bear is defeated, an wisp will slowly move to the chest in the middle of the arena. If the bear was killed with melee, the chest will drop the Claw Talisman.
    • The Talisman grants Permanent Double Points on all melee kills for the remainder of the match.
    • With the Barista Brawl augment for Melee Macchiato and the Talisman quipped, a melee "headshot" will award 320 points.

ARC-XD Race

  1. Go to the Zarya Cosmodrome and ensure that every buyable door is open.
  2. Search the "Fog" areas for the ARC-XD remote controller. If you can't find it, check the Cosmodrome for any doors you might've missed. The controller can spawn in one of three locations:
  3. Interact with the controller to be teleported into the minigame.
    • In Co-op, all players must vote/agree to join the race.
  4. Drive the RC-XD through the course in the Cosmodrome. You have approximately 1.5 minutes to complete the loop.
    • In Solo, your reward tier (Gold, Silver, Bronze) depends on your finish time. In Co-op, it is a competitive race against other players.
  5. Mr. Peeks will appear and present you with a trophy containing loot such as Salvage, Weapons, or Equipment based on your ranking.

Axe Throwing (Mr. Peeks Loot)

  1. Go to the Toolshed at Blackwater Lake, and interact with the trophy sitting on the shelf. The trophy should glow.
  2. A Combat Axe will have spawned on a log outside the toolshed; interact to pick it up.
  3. Go to the open area behind the fence on the road near the Power Pump. Floating targets will appear, which you must hit with the Combat Axe. After hitting a few stationary targets, the targets will start moving.
    • You have infinite axes for this minigame, so you can keep throwing without running out.
    • If you take too long to hit a moving target, it'll disappear and the targets don't respawn (unknown if there's a way to respawn them, and try again).
  4. Once you successfully hit the final target, Mr Peeks will appear. After a short dance, he'll drop some loot to the ground. Rewards will get better the higher round you're on.

Free Wisp Tea (TV Twins)

  1. Go to the second floor of the Farmhouse in Vandorn Farm. Interact with the TV right of the Stamin-Up machine until you see two little girls in a room. Keep interacting until you see only one.
  2. Head down to the Cellar of the Barn. Look for the ghost girl scratching tic-tac-toe into the floor. Approach the ghost, and she will fade away.
  3. Go back to the TV in the Farmhouse. Continue interacting with it until the image displays the room again, but with no girls this time.
  4. Go outside to the area near the power pump. You'll see the two ghost girls dancing. Approach them, and they'll disappear, dropping rewards, including a free Wisp Tea perk can.
    • You can find the girls dancing around Vandorn Farm every few rounds for more loot drops.

Free Power-ups + Free Perk

Spawn a Zursa

  1. Obtain the Necrofluid Gauntlet.
  2. Shoot three hidden skulls in 'Zarya Cosmodrome' (in any order) with the Necrofluid Gauntlet to spawn a Zursa Bear.
    • Saving and quitting on the same round you spawned the bear, then reloading and going to the next round, will allow you to repeat this easter egg.
  3. Skull locations:

Chompy (Trash Can)

Vending Machine (Free Loot)
