Alistair's Folly
Alistair's Folly is a pistol that fires an exploding round, which does not damage the player. It cannot be Pack-a-Punched, but there are two tiers of upgrades, the Chaos Theory and Alistair's Annihilator. The Alistair's Folly is available through the mystery box and via the following quest:
- Locate four symbols, each a different colour. The possible symbols are stylized versions of "X", "A", "D" or "Z". When you find one, note the colour and letter (e.g. "Yellow Z"). Symbol Locations:
- Enter the symbols into the Lock Box at the back of the Library.
- If the correct symbols were input, an alarm will sound and the window will open, letting you pick up Alistair's Folly.
Chaos Theory
The Chaos Theory is an enhanced version of Alistair's Folly that has two new attacks which can be triggered by holding down the trigger until the weapon is fully charged. The new attacks are a Tornado that picks up any Zombies that enter and a Yellow/Green Pool that turns any Zombies that enter friendly.
- There are two parts required to upgrade to the Chaos Theory: the Gun Part and the Werewolf Chaos Materia. These can be obtained in any order.
Werewolf Chaos Materia
- Obtain Silver Bullets
- Kill a Werewolf with a weapon equipped with Silver Bullets. If done correctly, Werewolf Chaos Materia should drop from the Werewolf.
- Place the Werewolf Chaos Material into the machinery in the 'Greenhouse Laboratory.' After a few seconds, the machine will produce Prima Materia to be picked up from the left side of the machine.
Gun Part
- Obtain the Ballistic Shield
- Melee the bookshelf at the back left of the 'Library,' right of the Silver Bullets buildable table, with the Ballistic Shield. The bookshelf should slide open revealing a gun part glowing blue.
Crafting the Weapon
- Craft the Chaos Theory at the buildable table left of the stairs in the 'Greenhouse Laboratory.'
Alistair's Annihilator
Alistair's Annihilator is an enhanced version of the Chaos Theory that has two new charged attacks, as well as the attacks the Chaos Theory had. The new attacks are a Red Orb that vaporizes Zombies that enter and a Green Pool that shrinks Zombies to death.
- There are three parts required to upgrade to Alistair's Annihilator: the Gun Part, the Nosferatu Chaos Materia, and the Bat Chaos Materia. These can be obtained in any order.
Nosferatu Chaos Materia
- Use the Tornado attack from the Chaos Theory to kill vampires and make them drop Bile. Collect three Bile; after obtaining three, no more bile will drop.
- Interact with the red glowing coffin in the 'Cemetery' to smear the bile on the side. After a few seconds, a Crimson Nosferatu will spawn from it. Kill it to make it drop the Nosferatu Chaos Materia.
Bat Chaos Materia
- In the 'Mausoleum,' shoot the orange lamp with the Chaos Theory to switch it off and make another one glow orange. After the first lamp is shot, quickly shoot the next three, or they'll all go out and you'll have to wait until next round to retry.
- Once all four lamps are shot, a bat will spawn from the lamp and fly around the 'Cemetery' and 'Mausoleum.'
- Tip: As soon as you shoot the last lamp, aim just above the lamp to where the bat is spawning and start shooting the Chaos Theory. If done correctly, you should kill the bat before it can fly into the sky.
- Shoot it with the Chaos Theory to obtain the Bat Chaos Materia.
Gun Part
- In the 'Forest,' there are three dirt piles with glowing mushrooms, with one hiding a gun part. When a zombie is near/on a pile, hit it with the Chaos Theory's green pool attack. If done right, the zombie will start digging. If that pile has the gun part, you can collect it; if not, repeat with the other piles until you find the part.
Crafting the Weapon
- Convert the Nosferatu Chaos Materia and Bat Chaos Materia into Prima Materia via the machinery in the 'Greenhouse Laboratory.' Note: Only one Materia can be converted at once.
- Craft the Alistair's Annihilator at the buildable table right of the stairs, near the ICR-7 wallbuy in the 'Greenhouse Laboratory.'
Savage Impaler
The Savage Impaler is a crossbow that does heavy damage to vampires, often one-hit killing the regular ones. It cannot be Pack-a-Punched, and there is no upgrade for it. The Savage Impaler can be obtained from the following quest or the mystery box after quest completion:
- Around the Mansion, six burning candles need to be meleed to be put out (the Strife's knife attachment does work). When meleeing the candle, aim for the base of the flame as the hitbox is small. Each time a candle is put out, a sound will play. Locations:
- In the 'Forest,' to the right of the Pack-a-Punch, there is a tombstone (View with PAP Visible). Interact with it to activate "Zombie Blood" (your screen will turn red, but enemies can still see and attack you). It's timed, and after a few minutes it wears off. In Solo, you can interact with the tombstone up to three times per round. In Co-op, all players share one use per round.
- While in "Zombie Blood," locate a ghost lady somewhere around the map and escort her to the 'Mausoleum.' Zombie Blood doesn't last long enough to do the whole escort in one use. If it runs out while escorting her, she'll stop and wait until someone with Zombie Blood returns. Her spawn is random, but some of the most common locations are below:
- Once the ghost makes it to the 'Mausoleum,' four zombies (one at a time) will start to glow teal. Each needs to be killed in a specific way and in order. When killed correctly, the ghost appears above where the zombie died and a piece of jewellery drops. Pick it up before going for the next kill. The kill order:
- Regular Kill (with any weapon)
- Fire Kill (Wraith Fire or Fire Trap)
- Special Weapon Kill
- Shield Kill (Bash or Gun)
- Once all four pieces have been picked up, place them on the white circles in the 'Mausoleum' to turn them blue. Once all four have been placed, a white pattern will appear on the ground.
- In the 'Mausoleum,' kill ~15 vampires. After each successful kill you should hear the ghost lady scream. If you don't hear a scream, move to a different white circle and try again.
- Once enough vampires have been killed, the white pattern on the ground should turn blue; once it is blue it only stays blue for a few seconds. You must then quickly interact with this tomb to open the 'Crypt' before the pattern returns to white.
- In the 'Crypt,' the Savage Impaler can be picked up on the far side of the 'Crypt,' which will activate a lockdown. Even though only one player can get the Savage Impaler from the quest, all players must be present to activate the lockdown.
- During the lockdown, Zombies, Vampires, and a Werewolf will spawn. Kill them all to end the lockdown.
Silver Bullets
Silver Bullets are special ammunition that deals extra damage to werewolves. They can be equipped with any weapon (excluding wonder weapons and the shield), and more can be bought from the workbench at any time.
- There are six parts required to craft the Silver Bullets: three to make molten silver and three to make gunpowder. The molten silver parts are in the following locations:
- Craft the Molten Silver at the workbench in the 'Wine Cellar.'
- The parts for the gunpowder are in the following locations:
- Once all parts have been collected and the Molten Silver has been crafted, the Silver Bullets can be crafted at the workbench in the 'Library.'
Stake Knife
The Stake Knife is a melee weapon that replaces the standard knife. It one-hit kills vampires (crimson or not) on any round, and one-hit kills zombies up to round 26. It can be obtained from the following quest:
- Open Pack-a-Punch
- In the 'Forest,' there's a tree with a lantern on it near the Koshka wallbuy.
- Above the lantern, there is a symbol carved into the tree. There are also symbols on three trees nearby. Stand near the tree, so you are facing the lantern.
- When standing in the correct spot, the four symbols will line up, letting you see them all at once (Brightened Example). Note them down left to right. The order is random every game.
- In the 'Gardens,' there are four stones, each with one of the symbols from the trees on it. You must shoot the stones in the order the symbols were on the trees (left to right).
- Each stone's symbol randomizes every new game.
- Warning: If you shoot the stones in the wrong order, you must restart your game to retry. There is no way to respawn the stones.
- Stone locations:
- If done correctly, your character will say something about doing it in the right order.
- Buy the Bowie Knife from the Forest Terrace wallbuy.
- On a tree, left of the one with the lantern, there are the same four symbols etched around the circumference of the tree. Using the Bowie Knife, melee the symbols in the same order that they appeared on the trees. When a symbol is successfully meleed, a scratch will appear through it.
- Once all four symbols are meleed, melee each of the symbols on the tree (in any order this time) with the Ballistic Shield until a branch falls from it.
- Place the branch on the stone in the 'Mausoleum.'
- Kill ~15 Vampires near the branch to charge it.
- Once the branch is charged enough, it will no longer take vampire souls, the end will be smoking orange, and it can be picked up.
- Craft the Stake Knife at the workbench on the 'Cemetery Path.'
Fire Traps
Warning: If you plan on doing the Main Quest, activate the fire trap in the 'Library.'
- There are fire traps in four doorways around the map. Each requires a core to activate. Trap locations:
- A fire trap core can be found in three of the following locations. Core locations:
'Trial by Ordeal' Main Quest
Stats (Solo): Difficulty - 6/10, Est. Completion Time - 1:10 Hr to 1:40 Hr
Prerequisites
- Activate the Sentinel Artifact.
- Activate Pack-a-Punch.
This Easter Egg consists of three Quest Lines (Telescope, Effigy, and Knight) that can be completed simultaneously (except for one specific case outlined below). Unlike other Easter Eggs in Black Ops 4, there is no HUD text to indicate the current step. Instead, the Sentinel Artifact in the HUD displays 12 Zodiac Symbols that light up as steps are completed. Each zodiac sub-step listed below indicates what triggers it to light up.
Leo - Telescope Quest line
- Interact with each stone until you see the Telescope to activate the Telescope Quest Line.
Virgo - Lightning Rod
- Obtain Silver Bullets.
- All players must shoot the Lightning Rod above the Mausoleum at the same time with Silver Bullets.
- If done correctly, it will sink into the Mausoleum and a telescope will take its place, shooting a beam of light toward the Atlas Statue in the Mansion.
Libra - Colour Beam Puzzle
- On the 'North Atrium Bridge,' there will be three boxes on the railing facing the Atlas Statue that will open when a player gets close to them. Open all the boxes to reveal the wheels inside.
- The goal is to block the three coloured beams coming from the crystal in the middle using the circular part of the rings. The wheels can be spun left by interacting with the left side, or to the right by interacting with the right. When the wheels are spun, the rings Atlas is holding will spin. The easiest way to block all beams is:
- Spin the Middle Wheel to the Left until the Green light is covered
- Spin the Left Wheel to the Left until the Blue light is covered (this will uncover the Green light)
- Spin the Right wheel to the Left until the Red light is covered
- Repeat Steps 1–3 until all lights are covered
- Once all lights are covered, the beams will melt the statue's head off.
Scorpio - Zodiac Scratches
- Around the map, Zodiac Symbols will spawn in three of the following seven locations (Note: Capricorn on this image looks nothing like the one in-game). Each symbol has three sets of scratch marks. Add them up to get the number for that symbol (e.g. Aries - 3 Scratches, 5 Scratches and 2 Scratches = Aries - 10).
- What a symbol means is irrelevant, you only have to remember what the symbol looks like, and its associated number of scratches.
- Sometimes the Zodiac symbols take a few seconds to load in, so stare at every location for a few seconds to make sure it loads.
- If only two sets of scratches are visible for one symbol, consider the third (invisible) set of scratches to be zero.
- Once you have all three Zodiac symbols and their scratch totals, make your way to the Telescope upstairs in the 'Greenhouse Laboratory.'
- Below the telescope, there is a Dial with Zodiac symbols. You must input the symbols from the least number of scratches to most.
- The dial can be spun left by interacting with the left side or to the right by interacting with the right.
- When a symbol is at the top of the dial, melee it to input the symbol.
- If you don't input the correct symbols or input them in the wrong order, the symbols and scratches will reset, and you will have to find them again.
- If done correctly, the telescope will begin to move.
- Obtain the Ballistic Shield
- While holding the shield, hold the interact button on this Wheel near the telescope until Part of the Roof opens. Once it is fully open, melee the wheel with the shield. If done correctly, the lights above the wheel will turn green and the roof will stay open.
- Activate the Electric Trap below the telescope. All players must run through it while holding the shield to electrify it.
- All players must then melee the Eyepiece of the Telescope with the electrified shield at the same time. If done correctly, the screen with flash white and a beam will shoot out of the end of the Telescope into the sky.
- To the left of the Electric Trap, a part of the wall will open to reveal a Stone. All players must hold interact on the stone until it flies out to activate a lockdown.
- During the lockdown, Zombies and Vampires will endlessly spawn. After a couple of minutes, a few Werewolves will spawn. Once all the Werewolves are killed, the screen will flash white, and you will be able to pick up the Stone. When you pick up the Stone, a Max Ammo will spawn.
Sagittarius - Effigy Quest line
- Interact with each stone until you see the Effigy to activate the Effigy Quest Line.
Capricorn - Collecting Branches
- Obtain the Alistair's Annihilator
If you're having trouble with the branches or the tombstone, make sure you're not in the middle of another quest line, as this can stall progress. If you are, finish that quest line first, then come back.
- In the 'Cemetery' area, there are five birch trees that will drop leaves when a player gets close. Shoot the trunks of these trees with Alistair's Annihilator to make them drop a Branch. Interact with this branch to make it fly toward the center of the 'Cemetery.'
- The branches are a bit finicky and sometimes don't fall when shot or fly to the middle when picked up. You can check how many were collected by looking in front of the Mystery Box location in the 'Cemetery.'
- Also, sometimes, despite flying away when picked up, they aren't counted as being picked up. If this happens, go around to each location and hold interact on where the branch would be on the ground.
- Tree Locations:
Aquarius - Entering Ghost Mode
- Around the 'Cemetery,' there will be a tombstone with one of the characters and the year "1912" on it. In Solo, interact with it to activate "Green Vision". In Co-op, only the player playing as the character shown on the tombstone can activate it. If that character isn't in the game, anyone can.
- In the Green Vision, the five branches will form an effigy. You must shoot a Charged Fireball Shot from Alistair's Annihilator at the base of the effigy and hold interact on the effigy.
- A short cutscene will play where your character attaches to the effigy and gets sucked into "Hell". Afterwards, you'll be returned to the map as a "ghost", indicated by a blue effect on the screen.
- If you go down while in Ghost Mode, you will need to reactivate it by re-entering Green Vision, shooting the Charged Fireball Shot and interacting with the Effigy.
- While in Ghost Mode, you must find and escort a ghost lady to the 'Cemetery.' She can spawn in random locations around the map, but some of the more common locations are below:
- Once you find the ghost, escort her back to the Mystery Box location in the 'Cemetery.' Once she gets there, she will erupt into flames and drop a Stone.
Pisces - Activating the Lockdown
- Interact with the Stone to exit Ghost Mode. All players must then hold interact on the stone until it floats up to activate a lockdown.
Aries - Knight Quest line
- Interact with each stone until you see the Knight to activate the Knight Quest Line.
Taurus - Collect Fireplace Gems
- Obtain the Alistair's Annihilator and Ballistic Shield
- Activate the Fire Trap in the 'Library' (and the one in the 'Master Bedroom' to do the third set if you'd like).
- Turn on a trap and shoot the flames from the trap with a Charged shot from Alistair's Annihilator to turn them blue.
- While the flames are blue, run through them while holding the shield to light it on fire.
- With the flaming shield, you must melee a set of fireplaces around the map in a certain order.
- The sets can be done in any order, but the order of the fireplaces in a set must always be done in the order shown below.
- Once a set is completed successfully, all the fireplaces will go out and a gem will spawn in the last one of the set.
- Set Order:
Gemini - Bring Haunted Gems to the Forest
- Once you have all three gems, you must place them in three suits of armour around the map. When a gem is placed on a suit, the suit will fall apart and the gem will begin following you around.
- If you get too far from a gem while it is following you, it will stop following you and wait there until you return to it.
- Tip: When bringing the gems from the 'Cemetery' or 'Gardens,' bring them to the 'Main Hall' then sprint away from them leaving them in the 'Main Hall,' so you don't have to slowly walk from one side of the map to the other.
- Knight's Armour Locations:
- Once all three gems are following you, three coloured circles will spawn on the ground in the 'Forest' on each of the three paths toward Pack-a-Punch. Bring the gems to the corresponding circles.
- Once all the gems are in place, they will turn into ghost versions of the suits of armour. Kill zombies near the suits to make them move toward the Pack-a-Punch. Each suit will need to be moved twice.
- After each suit has been moved to the Pack-a-Punch, they will create an electric triangle. Kill a Werewolf inside the triangle to make a Stone appear on the floor.
Cancer - Activate the Lockdown
- All players must then hold interact on the stone until it floats up to activate a lockdown.
- During the lockdown, Zombies and Vampires will endlessly spawn. Unlike the other lockdowns, the gems will fly around the arena, killing any enemies they contact. After a couple of minutes, a few Werewolves will spawn. Once all the Werewolves are killed, the screen will flash white, and you will be able to pick up the Stone. When you pick up the Stone, a Max Ammo will spawn.
Werewolf Boss Fight
Recommended Weapons: Hades, Spitfire, Hellion Salvo, Alistair's Annihilator. All weapons should be equipped with Silver Bullets. The Homunculus and Stake Knife are helpful, but not required.
- On the right side of the 'Forest,' hold interact on the door to open it and start the boss fight.
Warning: Point of No Return. Once the Door is opened, the Boss Fight will start.
- A large glowing green square will appear on the ground. Rotate the statues around the edge of the arena so that the beams of light they cast are pointed at this green glowing square. The white beams will turn green if they're aligned correctly. Bait the werewolf into this green square by standing in it, at which point he will become trapped and vulnerable. Shoot the Werewolf in the glowing part of the chest. After dealing enough damage (this may take multiple traps), another Max Ammo and Carpenter will spawn.
- Survive against Zombies, Vampires, Werewolves, and Crimson Nosferatu until the boss werewolf jumps back into the arena. When the Werewolf returns, another Max Ammo and Carpenter will spawn.
- This phase is similar to phase one, except the glowing green square is invisible until found by a statue. Rotate the statues around the edge of the arena until the white beams turn green. Once all three are oriented correctly, the trap is set, and you can lure the boss into the green square to damage him. Repeat enough times and the boss will die.
Hidden Rooms / Various Free Items
Three secret rooms can be opened, each revealing either a power-up (which doesn't despawn), a weapon, an elixir, or free Silver Bullets.
If you fail to open a room, you must restart your game to be able to try again.
Billiards Room
- In the 'Billiards Room,' shoot the billiard balls into any pocket in ascending order (1 to 9). If you pocket one in the wrong order, a grenade will spawn.
- Once all the balls are in pockets, either a bonus points power-up will spawn from the table or the bookshelf will slide open, revealing your reward.
Wine Cellar
- In the 'Wine Cellar,' there are six barrels dripping wine. Locations:
- Melee the barrels in order of how fast they're dripping, fastest first. If you hit the right barrel, it will produce a wine splash. If you hit the wrong one, nothing happens.
- If the barrels are meleed in the correct order, the shelf will slide open, revealing your reward.
East/West Balcony
- Locate the bookshelves on the 'East Balcony' and 'West Balcony'
- Four of the books (two on each bookshelf) will have one of the following symbols on them. You must interact with them in the following order:
- Symbol 1
- Symbol 2
- Symbol 3
- Symbol 4
- Once the books have been interacted with, the bookshelf with the last book will slide open, revealing your reward.
Infinite Ammo (Images Incomplete)
WARNINGS BEFORE PROCEEDING
- The rewards for this Easter Egg are infinite ammo for one weapon for the rest of the game, all loadout perks and two random perks given to you for free, and free Homunculus equipment.
- This Easter Egg is very complicated and requires your full attention from the start of the game. It is not recommended to try and start it "mid-game."
- The Wraith Fire Equipment is required to complete this Easter Egg.
- Activate the Sentinel Artifact.
- Open the following doors in this order (any order works as long as you remember which door you opened in which order):
- 'Main Hall' to 'Wine Cellar'
- 'Main Hall' to 'Dining Room'
- 'Dining Room' to 'Greenhouse'
- 'Main Hall' to 'Library'
- 'Library' to 'Cemetery'
- 'Main Hall' to 'Forest'
- Look (aim and stare) at the Gramophones for about five seconds each, in the following order (there is no sound or cue confirming a successful "look"):
- Music Room
- West Gallery
- Master Bedroom
- Dining Room
- Library
- Behind the bookshelf from the East/West Balcony Hidden Room
- Obtain a Pack-a-Punched M1897 Trebuchet. It can be purchased from the wallbuy in the 'Library'.
- There are six vases around the mansion (each linked to one of the doors from Step 1) that need to be broken.
- If all vases were destroyed correctly, this candle in the 'Forest Terrace' should no longer be lit.
- There are six candles around the map (each linked to one of the doors from Step 1) that need to be ignited with the Wraith Fire equipment.
- In the 'East Stairway,' pick up the Vinyl Record leaning against a cabinet.
- You must play the record at the gramophones from step 2 in the reverse order of how you looked at them.
- Once all the gramophones have been played, look at this window in the 'North Atrium' to spawn an invisible ghost which can't be seen but can be heard.
- The ghost needs to be escorted around the map, the player has to listen for the sounds the ghost makes to know where it is.
- Eventually, you will make your way to the 'Wine Cellar' (make sure to hold out the weapon you'd like infinite ammo for). Once you reach the bottom of the stairs, you must go prone and crawl over to this broken barrel following this path.
- If everything is done correctly, you will be given your rewards. (Was it worth it?)
